About the Role
This is the most senior technical role at Scale, combining leadership with hands-on infrastructure engineering. You will lead our technical team, manage escalations, and serve as the final escalation point while remaining actively engaged in complex engineering projects.
Core Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Development
- Coach and mentor L1/L2 technicians
- Manage escalations and enforce quality standards
- Lead team meetings and performance reviews
- Support hiring and onboarding efforts
Network Engineering and Infrastructure
- Design and manage LAN/WAN environments
- Configure enterprise firewalls (Meraki, Fortinet)
- Manage VLANs, routing, and wireless networks
- Implement VPN and SD-WAN solutions
Cloud Administration (Azure and M365)
- Manage Azure environments and resources
- Administer Entra ID and identity systems
- Maintain M365 tenant health
- Oversee backups and disaster recovery
- Optimize cloud spending
Cybersecurity Operations
- Lead security architecture decisions
- Manage EDR platforms
- Implement zero-trust and email security
- Conduct vulnerability and compliance reviews
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in IT infrastructure or cloud
- MSP (Managed Service Provider) experience strongly preferred
- Enterprise firewall expertise
- Strong Azure experience (AZ-104 level)
- Advanced networking knowledge (BGP, VLANs, QoS)
- Cybersecurity framework familiarity
- PowerShell scripting ability
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities
Preferred Certifications
- AZ-104 (required or in progress)
- MS-500 / MS-700
- Security+ or Network+
- CCNA / Fortinet NSE
- CISSP / CISA (bonus)
