About the Role

The Network & Cloud Administrator — Team Lead is Scale’s most senior technical role.

You lead the technical team, own infrastructure across clients, and serve as the final escalation point — all while staying hands-on with complex engineering work.

Daily Duties & Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

• Coach and mentor L1/L2 technicians
• Manage escalations and ticket quality
• Enforce documentation and SLA standards
• Lead team meetings and performance reviews
• Support hiring and onboarding

Network Engineering & Infrastructure

• Design and manage LAN/WAN environments
• Configure enterprise firewalls (Meraki, Fortinet, etc.)
• Manage VLANs, routing, wireless networks
• Own VPN and SD-WAN implementations

Cloud Administration (Azure & M365)

• Manage Azure environments and resources
• Administer Entra ID and identity systems
• Maintain M365 tenant health
• Oversee backups and disaster recovery
• Optimize cloud spend

Cybersecurity Operations

• Lead security architecture decisions
• Manage EDR platforms
• Implement zero-trust and email security
• Conduct vulnerability and compliance reviews

Strategic & vCIO Support

• Contribute to client roadmaps and QBRs
• Define technical standards
• Assist with pre-sales and solution design

Automation & Process Improvement

• Build PowerShell automation
• Improve RMM workflows
• Drive documentation culture

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT infrastructure or cloud
• MSP experience strongly preferred
• Enterprise firewall expertise
• Strong Azure experience (AZ-104 level)
• Advanced networking knowledge (BGP, VLANs, QoS)
• Cybersecurity framework familiarity
• PowerShell scripting
• Leadership and mentoring ability

Certifications (Preferred / Required)

• AZ-104 (required or in progress)
• MS-500 / MS-700
• Security+ or Network+
• CCNA / Fortinet NSE
• CISSP / CISA (bonus)
